Judas Priest is one of the most influential Heavy Metal music. The band was founded in 1969 in Birmingham, United Kingdom by K.K. Downing and Ian Hill. Their classiclineup including vocalist Rob Halford, guitarists K.K. Downing and Glenn Tipton, and bassist Ian Hill.

is the pioneer of the genre of Heavy Metal, and arguably created the "Metal" look. The priest is one of the bands that helped spur the heavy metal genre's evolution bydiscarding most of the blues influence and create a "metallic" sound that inspired the generation of metal bands to come.
Judas Priest was one of the first heavy metal bands and is considered one of the most influential bands in the genre, helping the evolution of speed and thrash metal in the 80s.
K.K. Downing and bassist Ian Hill had known each other since early childhood, because they lived near each other and attending the same nursery and school in West Bromwich. They became close friends in their early teens, when they shared similar musical interests (Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Cream, The
The Yardbirds) and learning to play an instrument.

The band was founded in 1969 in Birmingham, United Kingdom, United Kingdom, after a local ensemble named Judas Priest (after Bob Dylan's song "The Ballad of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest" from the album John Wesley Harding.
The band's singer, Al Atkins, approached Downing
and Hill, who was playing as a power trio with drummer John Ellis, and asked if he could become their singer. With Atkins now in the band, Downing suggested they change the name
them to Judas Priest because he had become fans of the original band.

Then, in 1972, Rob Halford and drummer John Hinch joined to replace Atkins and Partridge, respectively. A second guitarist, Glenn Tipton, also added to the line-up in 1974 as compensation for (Gull Records) proposed
their record company to add a horn section for the first album, Rocka Rolla.
Downing and Tipton harmonious lines of guitars are not very common at the time, but became a trademark for the Group and will inspire other bands such as Metallica, Iron Maiden and Megadeth to do
the same. This is now a standard feature of many heavy metal bands and appeared in many metal sub-genres.
The band featuring Halford, Downing, Tipton and Hill will go to record 2 albums from 1974 to 1990.

Their second album, Sad Wings of Destiny (released in 1976), is considered one of the most influential metal albums along with the self-titled debut of Black Sabbath.
The priest went through a large number of drummers between formation and 1980 when Dave Holland joined and stayed there until 1988 it was Ram It Down, and is arguably the inspiration for Spinal Tap with misadventures
drummers. Racer X drummer Scott Travis joined the band to record the album Painkiller 1990 and has been with the band ever since.
1980 saw the priest released their album may be the most famous, Steel United Kingdom, featuring a more focused approach and ramping up for the metal from previous efforts. This, coupled with the exciting, fist-pumping riffs and melodic vocals impress ensure string band selling platinum albums in a row. Fans a little disappointed with the 1986 Turbo, featuring electronic drums and guitar, synthesized, but the band is still selling the arena around the world. Halford left the group in 1993, occurred in a new direction with his new band, the short-lived metal, Fight and, later, 2wo. He started a successful solo career with his own self-titled in 1999.
With Halford went, the future looks bleak for the band, but after a lot of searching for a suitable replacement, they found something special as a tribute Band front manTim "Ripper"
Owens. This story forms the basis of the plot of the movie "Rock Star", which originally had to be really about Judas Priest and the Ripper titled "Metal God," but the script was changed after the failure to reach an agreement with the
the band. Judas Priest recorded 4 albums with Owens (2 studio, 2 records live) which was met with mixed reactions from fans.
In 2003, the year 1990 Judas Priest line-up in return when Rob Halford returned to the group after a rekindled relationship during work on the four-CD career retrospective that Judas Priest in 2004 "Metalogy".
The band played Ozzfest and released a CD
New Studio material, entitled Angel Of Retribution and the accompanying live DVDin 2005, enjoyed a successful world tour that year.

After the tour, the vast emotional reunion and a new album, the band released a follow-up album in June 2008, entitled Nostradamus. Superb for Priest, this album is a double CD album is conceptual and
their first, based on the life and predictions of Nostradamus, which imparts a wide array of reactions among fans.

In 2011, KK Downing announced
his resignation. The band itself stated that their next world tour, Epitaph, it would be the
last. Downing is a former guitarist in replacement for the daughter of Steve Harris, Lauren Harris. the new Guitarist was born in 1980 when Judas Priest are in the United Kingdom Steel tour. Her name is Richie Faulkner.
