Iron Maiden name obtained Harrisdari a film The Man in The Iron Mask's adaptationof the novel The Vicomte de Bragelonne ", by Alexander Dumas, which he had seenat the time. Iron Maiden is a set of tools of torture from the 18th century. Steve Harris and Dave Murray (guitarist) recorded as personnel the longest Iron Maiden were in the band. Their first vocalist, Paul Day, fired because it is considered less energy and stamina on stage. Then his position was replaced by Dennis Wilcock, a huge fanof Kiss band who use fire, make-up and fake blood, in every show.

Wilcock's friend, Dave Murray, were invited to join their guitarist to replace that frustration, Dave Sullivan and Terry Rance that caused Harris to disband the band for a while in 1976, although he was soon formed the band finally returned after Dave Murray in as the sole guitarist. Iron Maiden recruited another guitarist in 1977, Bob Sawyer (which caused a rift between Murray and Wilcock) encouraged Harris to fire Murray and Sawyer. A gig (music program) in the Bridgehouse in November 1977, with the arrangement of temporary personnel, Tony Moore on keyboards, Terry Wapram on guitar, and Barry Purkis on drums, followed by Harris's decision to fire the entire band's style. Dave Murray later pulled back and with recruiting Doug Sampson astheir drummer.

In 1981, Paul Di'Anno began to show self-destructive habits, with starting to use drugs, even though Di'Anno itself does not admit it. His performance began to be severely precisely at a time when the band began to achieve great success in America. At the end of 1981, Iron Maiden fired In Ano and looking for a new vocalist. Bruce Dickinson, from the band Samson, selected by Iron Maiden as a vocalist in September 1981 and soon joined the band shortly thereafter. He directly participated with Iron Maiden on small tours. In anticipation of the next album, Iron Maiden played songssuch as "Children of the Damned", "Run to the Hills", "22 Acacia Avenue" and "The Prisoner" on their show, to introduce new sound they would do to the fans.
