Anggun Cipta Sasmi (born April 29, 1974, 42 years old; better known as Graceful) is an American singer who is currently Indonesia has had French citizenship. She was the daughter of Darto Singo, an artist bleeds Java, and Dien Herdina, a woman who is still the Royal relatives. He initiated his career by appearing on stage at the age ofseven years to Ancol, and then record a children's album two years later. Under the guidance of musician Ian Antono, graceful recorded his first studio album in Indonesia entitled World I had in 1986. However, the name new rock singer soared after releasing the single "Dreams" in 1989. Graceful won success early during halftime of the Decade of the 1990s through a series of single hits such as "Tua Tua Keladi", "Spider", "Fear", "the breath of love", and "return of love". The Popular magazine awarded Gracefully as "Indonesia's most popular artist of the 1990 – 1991".

In 1994, Gracefully leaving Indonesia to realize his dream to become an international artist. With the help of Erick Benzi, a major French producer, he managed to recordhis first international album entitled Snow on the Sahara. The album was released in 1997 in 33 countries around the world, including the United States into a global musical direction. Since then Graciously has produced as many as five albums that were recorded in two versions, the United Kingdom and the French language. In addition, he has recorded collaborations with many artists, including Julio Iglesias, Peter Gabriel, Pras Michel (The Fugees), Il Divo, David Foster and Melanie C (Spice Girls). Graceful penetrated into the arena of television talent search through X Factor Indonesia(2013), making it the most expensive in the history of the jury on Indonesia. He subsequently also became Asia's Got Talent judges (2015) which was attended by participants from 15 countries in the continent of Asia.

Anggun was the first singer Indonesia managed to penetrate the international music industry and albums have received gold and platinum in several European countries. Some awards have been won by Gracefully over her accomplishments, includingthe grace of the prestigious "Chevalier des Arts et Lettres" from the French Government and the "world's Best Selling Brazilian Artist" from the World Music Awards asartist Indonesia with highest album sales worldwide. He was the second Indonesia after Soekarno Proclaimers enshrined in wax by Madame Tussauds Museum in Bangkok, Thailand. She has twice requested a global became an Ambassador of the United Nations (UN), namely for Mikrokredit program in 2005 and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in 2009.

Life and career

1974 – 1993: early life and career in Indonesia

Graceful is the first daughter of Darto Singo, an artist Indonesia with Dien Herdina, a housewife who still descendants of the Royal family. [1] she was educated at a Catholic school in Jakarta, though Graceful himself was a Muslim. [2] [3] she grew up in a family full of art. Since the age of seven Graceful digembleng vocal exercises every day by his father. [4] She taught a variety of vocal techniques with full exercise of discipline. Not only that, she was taught to play the piano. By dimanajeri her mother, grace then began performing on stage, although often only in Exchange for meals. [5]at the age of nine years, Graciously started creating his songs himself and began torecord a children's album. [6] [7]

In 1992, Anggun began a relationship with George Michel, a French engineer. They first met when Anggun touring concerts in the city of Banjarmasin. [12] they later married and Michael was appointed manager. At the age of 19 years, Gracefully managed to become the youngest singer who founded his own record company, Bali CiptaRecords. [2] She also work directly as a producer so that more free in its execution of the album itself. [8] She later released studio albums in Indonesia entitled Anggun... LAH!!! in 1993. His first single, "return of love (we have to talk)", again scoring a success and the video had penetrated MTV Hong Kong. [2] she ever feel not satisfied with success in Indonesia and started dreaming of a career as an international singer.

1994 – 1996: Leave Indonesia and the beginning in Europe

In 1994, Anggun released a greatest hits album entitled the lost containing hit songs Gracefully over in Indonesia. After that, Graciously sold her record company and moved to Europe in order to realize his dream to be a singer. [13] [14] together withMichel, George Graciously settled in London, United Kingdom as long as a year to begin his career again from scratch. He diligently sent a demo tape to a variety of studios in the United Kingdom and also go to clubs to introduce himself as a singer. The high cost of living in London and the money record company sales results Gracefully depleted little by little. Graceful must accept the disappointment many months later when all the demo recorder did not get a positive response. Graceful eventually realized that he would not have a future in the United Kingdom and is planning to start a career in another country. He intends to move to the Netherlands, but later he switched to France. [13]

Two years after leaving Indonesia, Anggun finally managed to meet up with Erick Benzi, one of the major French producer ever to manage the album a number of notable singers such as Celine Dion, Jean-Jacques Goldman and Johnny Hallyday. [15] Benzi Graceful vocal abilities captivated by and immediately offered him to record an album. Graciously agreed and decided to learn the French language are self-taught.[17] with the help of Benzi, Anggun was later recruited by Columbia Records in France. Not only that, she was given a contract to the parent label Sony Music International for an album that will be released internationally.
