Jeff Beck and Steven Tyler cover Prince's 'Purple Rain'

Jeff Beck covered Prince’s seminal song ‘Purple Rain’ with a little help from Steven Tyler and Beth Hart on Wednesday night (10th August).

The guitar virtuoso performed an epic 23-song career-spanning set at the Hollywood Bowl to celebrate his 50th year in the industry packed with classics from over the decades.

Returning to the stage for an encore, Jeff delivered a driving version of the Purple One’s 1984 anthem with Beth Hart providing the powerful vocals and Steven Tyler adding some backing dulcet tones

Steven Tyler himself had sang lead vocals on ‘Train Kept A-Rollin’ and ‘Shapes of Things’ and Beth Hart lent her trademark vocals to a cover of Etta James’ ‘I’d Rather Go Blind’.

The set also boasted a cover of The Beatles classic ‘A Day in the Life’.
